This Estella drawing is part of a series documenting my slow-burn love affair southern California. The vivid colors of the landscape here are almost overwhelming to my northern eyes and I find it endlessly energizing. There is nothing like how these blooms look in the evenings and there my inspiration for Estella was born.

These drawings were made with soft pastels of all local floral — it comes together as a bold, spirited repeating pattern with the emotion of a California summer night.

This warm golden color is the base for our customizable monochrome version of this design. This color works wonderfully in so many spaces, adding subtle texture and style.
