The Selene artwork is part of a series documenting my slow-burn love affair with Southern California. I have always adored Art Deco, and even though I love how it feels amongst dense urban architecture, there is something completely different about how Deco shines in California. The hues are more vital to the design, and the rhythm of the motifs speak in very different ways against this landscape.

I took my palette inspiration from my two favorite cool tones in Art Deco design, a soft patina green and turquoise blue. My goal is for this motif to have the same charm and style once it’s dancing around a room.
